My 2015: Essential Oils, Mint Flavoured Lube & Creative Insanity…

Hi Y’all!

I know you probably want to skin me alive for the long silence, and you’d be right to but I’m really really sorry. I just got into the bottle of Grey Goose holiday spirit and forgot how to type. On the plus side, I feel really guilty. (hard to believe but I do). Am I forgiven? Yes? Yaaaaaay! Okay let’s take a look at 2015…

This yearly review started two years ago, you know how much I love to document stuff so that’s how it came about, you can take a look at 2013 & 2014, I was going through it and it made me laugh so hard and showed me how much I have grown. This life is beautiful indeed.

Looking back on 2015 has me extremely grateful to the people in my life. I feel rich when I go through the humans I have come to know. Did you know that I had two jobs this year? Two different job environments, colleagues, energy & challenges. I also delved into the world of freelancing, I don’t know how y’all do it but freelancing is the hardest thing I have ever done, it’s fun but really difficult. Do I enjoy it? Yeah, but I would love to get back in an office space soon. Fingers crossed on that one.

My friendships have blossomed, new ones have been formed. I finally saw my best friend, Sarah(after five years) and I swear I wanted to bottle her like a firefly and keep her in my room forever and ever! I love her so much. And my second best friend, Habiba is getting married in the new year.I was bummed about that. Let me tell you why. I had a male BFF once, when he said he was going to get married, I told him goodbye because I knew our dynamic was going to change and he thought I was being negative(haven’t seen him in like, forever now) I have made peace with it, he keeps fighting it, making appointments and breaking them. Sigh…(post for another day)

So, yeah I’m a little bummed that my best friend is getting married but I am super excited about this new phase of her life, I can’t wait to be a godmother too, so Habiba, you guys can like to double up on the procreation bit. Sarah, I’m taking the first one and if they are twins, I’m taking both.(I already have their onesies made sef).

My creative insanity kind of went wild this year. In January, I created(on paper) lots of visual/audio content for mass consumption. I worked so hard on them- tv shows, radio programs, podcasts- then reality set in. I wasn’t in the right ‘’clique’’ for it to work, I was surrounded by vultures who saw me as the nice girl who wanted to make her way in the Nigerian Creative Industry(thank God for Maman) and they decided to prey. They were able to get their hands on some, but I’m not one to cry over spilt milk, besides. The more you use your creativity, the more it flows., right? I thing Maya Angelou said that.  And it’s kind of like orgasms. The more you experience it, the easier it gets to experience it(does that make sense? No? Blame the Goose)

I redirected my creative energy towards self development and doing what I really loved- making people feel like they are a part of something. So, I created a BBM channel{C00460249} for the blog so that YOU could reach me for anything on a more personal level and it was great but I have the most amazing readers and subscribers and I wanted to put them in contact with each other’s minds and booooom! The #LipglossmaffiaAfterDark chats was born and if you haven’t joined the channel, you are missing out on some of the best conversations in the world. And we even have a name! If you love /follow/ stay tuned to Lipglossmaffia, you are automatically a Member of the Tribe. (we should put this on a tshirt! Maybe Joey can help with that)

Just scan here and boooooom!

Before I forget, you guys need to try mint flavoured lube. It’s the best thing since cordless vibrators, I swear! I know it’s always been there but I kind of preferred my mint in my ice cream that goes into my mouth(lol, that came out wrong, I know) but mint in the vagina in the whoooshhhh. Father, Lord, God. Y’all have to try it, I’m sure guys would find it pleasurable too.

I also added new series & features to the blog that I am so excited about. It’s going to be an awesome year, 2016. Yes sir! So, if you’re new to the blog, just search for; #OnTheHustle, The Review, #TheWeekly8, #TipsyTuesday and many more that I will be revealing in the new year. Yes, there is more!!! I can’t wait to share.

2015 was a full year. It was like an Expendables movie, lots of explosions, sad moments, funny moments, successful executions, happy moments. It was an amazing year. If met you this year for the first time, thank you for being in my life or passing through(whichever role you played) I appreciate you. And in typical Lipglossmaffia style, I’d like to thank everyone and everything that contributed to making my 2015 awesome!

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 15,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

What are you really looking forward to, in the new year?
